We are proud to partner with Member For A Day for our first annual Golf Auction. Due to Covid-19, we were forced earlier this year to postpone all four of our in-person fundraising events slated for 2020. These events were projected to bring in $225K+ in revenue for our organization to assist heart failure, LVAD, and heart transplant patients. This patient population is one of the most vulnerable to Covid-19, with the worst outcomes. Now more than ever, supporting those suffering from heart failure is crucial.
Heart Failure in the US:
At this very moment, 4,000 of the staggering 6.5 million Americans with heart failure are waiting for a heart transplant…with a new addition to that list every 10 minutes. The typical wait for a heart is 6 months to a year or more. Many patients spend much of that time hospitalized with an LVAD while loved ones travel back and forth—often over great distances—day after day, to support them and oversee their care. About 10% of patients survive the wait and receive a matching heart. No matter the outcome, in the wake of this emotional and physical rollercoaster, families are devastated by the experience and its crushing debt. The HeartBrothers know this nightmare first-hand because they are all heart failure and heart transplant survivors.
Make a Donation:
We are collecting tee times for our roster of auction items. If you would like to help us make our auction more robust, and help heart failure patients in need, we’d very much appreciate it!
About Member For A Day:
In Eric Sedransk’s words, “I started @Member4ADay (*an Instagram account) because I have been fortunate to play some of the greatest golf courses in the world and I wanted to take people along for the journey.”Then, in an unexpected turn of events, Covid-19 hit. In the heat of the pandemic, Eric asked himself, “How can I help?”. He had the brilliant idea to reach out to his extensive list of golf contacts after over a decade in the industry to see if they would donate a round that he could auction off for Covid-19 relief. To his surprise, courses began offering up donations without hesitation. How did his auction go you ask? Eric was able to raise over $100,000!
