To gather resources to help patients and their loved ones financially and emotionally survive life with heart failure and its challenges.
Hello and Welcome,
We are the HeartBrothers. Thank you for visiting our site. We’re a non-profit foundation whose mission is to help patients and families navigate the complicated worlds of Heart Failure (HF), Ventricular Assist Devices (VADs) and Heart Transplantation.
Collectively, we four founding members have more than three decades experience dealing with the often fatal condition of heart failure. After two of us (Bob and Pat) received defibrillators, stents, LVADS and transplants and spent two+ years in the hospital, we all dedicated ourselves to helping others by using our own experiences.
We’re in a unique position. With two of us being survivors and two of us being family members, we understand the 360 degrees of issues confronting both patients and their loved ones. We also know too well the many gaps in the system that can overwhelm anyone. We’re here to fill in those gaps. We’re here to assist those now living through and those about to go through the physical, mental, spiritual, emotional and financial stresses of this condition.
Please keep checking back with us. As part of our mission, we’ll be publishing informative blogs; we’ll have an open forum where you can ask questions and share your experiences and concerns with others in the heart failure community; and we’ll soon be launching assistance programs in Boston with Tufts Medical Center and its HF patients throughout New England.
The HeartBrothers, from the outset, has been focused on conserving costs via best-in practice and new practice services to ensure maximum benefits are directed to patients and families and respectfully ask for your support.
We thank you.
Pat, Bob, Leslie & Susan
